*narrates more* Once Micklang sets off on his boat down the river, it's smooth sailing for a while until he decides to investigate his new form. He finally sees that he is a lightning-tailed squirrel and with this amazing new revelation, he is told by his spirit self to create a sword with his belt and the water combined using his new, magical abilities. With a few practices of the sword, Micklang is soon ready for anything else that the world may have. It doesn't take long before he meets up with a group of otters who, like the tree clan, are curious about Micklang and want to know who and what he is.

'"Sure, and I was thinking you were a foe until you started singing that nice song. Why don't you swim in the lake, t'is a nice day for it, don't you think?"

"I can swim, but not very well. Fine, if you're not an enemy, why don't you show yourself? I'm willing to become friends if you are."

When no reply came, Micklang presumed the speaker had gone and he turned around, only to come face-to-face with a smiling otter.

"Well, ain't that nice? What kind of otter are you, friend, if you cannot swim properly and have a strange looking rudder?" The otter asked.

"I'm not an otter; I'm a squirrel, a tree-climber. My name is Micklang, but you can call me Micky if you want, friend." Micklang was slightly taken back by the appearance of the strange otter.

"Good to meet you, Micklang my friend. I'm Oscar, otter chieftain around these parts. We've been following you ever since you left Chief Tursorl's place. The reason we didn't join you was because we weren't clear what you were and why you were sailing down this lake of ours. Tursorl's a nice bloke, firm and strong, but nice. I'm sure you and 'im got a good chance to chin-wag. What are ya laughing at, Micklang my lad?" Oscar noticed the chuckle on Micklang's face.

"Something is tickling me, Oscar, I can't stop it! Oh Hahahahaha, oh, stop that, whatever you are! Hahaha!" Micklang laughed, trying to see what it was.'

Nathan:
So now our hero has met an otter tribe.  I gotta say that is getting better.

Justin:
I really love the otter clan. before you meet them, Micklang sings this absolutely wonderful ditty which, if you like, I can show you now?

Nathan:
Alright.

"This is the song of a lonely traveler, who does not know where to go.

He met a tree chief who helped him know where to go.

The two were joined as father and son, a certainly odd thing to see.

But another tree felt that none should be chief save he.

The two trees fought angrily, while the traveller helped out.

The battle was won by the tree that helped the traveller out.

Now the traveller is off alone with no help, save for the warrior inside his heart,

And he will travel until he comes to help, those who are close to his heart.

This is the song of the traveller, which is true, the traveller with a tale blue." Micklang sung swinging and swaying as he did.

Nathan:
Wow.  Impressive. Nice work there.

Justin:
Thanks :) I know it sounds a bit random to have a song there but still, I rather liked it. Could maybe be used as a real song in the movie if there ever is one ^^!

Nathan:
A musical number?  Sure why not!  Love it.

*Justin smiles and continues to study the story.*

So as it turns out what was making Micklang laugh was the rest of Otter's gang including Oscar's son, Oliver, who also gives Micklang his full name. Micklang Lightning-tail. Micklang tests the otters out at arrow shooting while on the boat, which I have to admit I rather liked a bit too, and then Micklang makes a very startling realization.

'Micklang chuckled as he looked back at Oscar, who was laughing as well.

"Now look what you've done, Oliver won't give that up for months! You sure know a lot about archery, Micklang, maybe you could teach us more about it as we go questing with you." Oscar expressed.

"I'd love to, but the only way we're going to get anywhere is if all your otters come on board and stop holding my boat."

Oscar suddenly looked concerned.

"What are you talking about? They're all here; none of them are holding the boat."

"Then what's been holding us here long enough for us to shoot those arrows?" Micklang looked into the lake.

Oscar pulled Micklang away from the edge just in time; a strange-looking fish shot out and snapped at where Micklang had been.

"I know what this is. Otters! Rudders ready to attack on my mark." Oscar commanded.

"What's going on?" Micklang asked.

"T'is pike, my land friend, I've dealt with them before. They push a rock or something in front of a boat such as this and then attack whoever is in it when they look over the edge like you just did. Then, from there, they work their way through each of the boat's crew, killing anything they can get their teeth into."

"Pike? But aren't they meant to be small, dumb fish?"

"Not these ones, my friend. These one are as big as boulders and smart to boot, that's why they almost got you when you looked over the edge. Problem they have is that they are dealing with me, and who better than to take revenge on those savage fish than me and my otter group. It was those vicious pike that attacked my ol' father and killed him and his crew, it be me to have vengeance. Stand back, Micklang my friend, this is otter business now." Oscar pushed Micklang away just as another pike tried to attack..

Micklang watched in fascination as the whole otter tribe gave the vicious fish beneath a good thrashing with their rudders.

"Steady there, otters, these pike mean business, don't show 'em you're 'fraid of 'em." Oscar commanded.

Some pike were brave or stupid enough to try and leap into the boat, but Micklang dealt with these by slashing at them with his sword, sending them back into the water with a blood trail showing behind them.

"Uh, oh, now we've got trouble. Brace yourselves, mates, the pike love blood, even if it is their own. They'll give each other a good gnawing at it until their blood lust has gone. Thankfully they won't bother us, but just stay the course and keep away from the sides, whatever you do." Oscar announced.

The boat rocked violently in the water, sending Micklang thudding into the front of the ship. The waves went rough like the middle of a storm as the raging pike killed and gnawed at any in their way.

But within minutes, the pike stopped suddenly and the attack was over.

Micklang rubbed his head and looked around.

"They are either dead or retreating, either way, I don't want to be hanging around this place any longer. Quick paddle, Micklang good chum, and let us get away from this place. Then we can start this venture you want to do." Oscar gave Micklang a hand to get up.'

Nathan:
This scene is also quite intense.  The pike fish kind of remind me of piranhas and how piranhas are supposedly 'bloodthirsty'.

Justin:
This isn't enough to get your other side out though? *Justin winks*

Nathan:
Ohhh...I get what you're trying to do. You can't get the Walken out of me that easily,  it's more complex than that. Although...speaking of Vengeance. *the Vengeance song from Peter Pan Live plays in his head*

Justin: *snaps his fingers*
Hey hey! Focus! you looked like you were going to fly away there for a moment. *he chuckled.*

Nathan:
Oops,  sorry.  *clears his throat* Well,  I gotta say this was a really intense scene..bloodthirsty fish and all.  They're lucky they made it out alive.

Justin:
Oh just you wait. it gets even more intense as it goes.

Nathan:
Oh? How so?

Justin:
Oh just wait and see. We still haven't met the tiger yet. That's when things get REALLY serious. Trust me on that.

*narrates* After the group have defeated the pike, they come across two platypi: Pistachio and his mother Penelope. PIstachio is, by far, my favourite platypus character of all fictional stories with platypi. It doesn't take them much convincing to get Pistachio on the team and they head further down the river. It is here and now when Micklang comes across something he NEVER thought he'd see again. Well ok one of the first things he didn't think he'd see again.

'The group stayed silent as they continued to sail along the lake, ever watchful for evil lurking in or out of the water. Oscar steered the boat carefully with Micklang's stick while Micklang sat down thinking about why he was there and what he could do.

"Micklang, you must prepare yourself, there is something coming, something evil." Warrior Micklang announced.

"Where is it, in the lake?"

"Wake up Micklang! It's here, it's trying to attack!!"

Micklang woke with a start as the shout turned into a fierce roar, somewhere from the shore.

"Crikey! What was that?" Pistachio shrieked, looking around suddenly.

Oscar started to paddle faster as he issued orders.

"Maria, Oliver! You take two more otters on the starboard side and paddle faster, I'll take the others onto the port side; we've got to go faster to get away. I don't know what that was, but it sounded fierce." Oscar yelled.

"ROAR!!! No-one gets away from the King of the beasts! I am Snawger, Lion of these woods and fierce ruler over all. Fear me, for I can kill any beast I please!" A lion's voice yelled.

Micklang signaled Oscar to stop rowing and stood up proudly.

"My name is Micklang Lightning-tail, Kin to the Mighty Tursorl chief of the faraway lake and Warrior of these lands. I do not mean you any harm if you won't harm us."

"HARHARHAHAHA!!! A squirrel warrior! Well I never! Should be easy killing you off, little squirrel! Hahaha!" The lion jumped out of the bushes and snarled at them.

Micklang gasped. The lion was a huge thing, bigger than the whole group put together, with its teeth sharper than the pike they had encountered earlier. What really surprised Micklang was that he had seen the exact same lion at the zoo he had been prisoner in. The lion that had escaped one time and had tried to eat Micklang when he had tried to escape as well. Thankfully, the lion had been caught and Micklang was put back into his cage, safe and sound.

Micklang knew it was the same lion, it had to be. It had the same long mane, scratched face and sore spot from where it had been hit by a sleeping dart. It also had a slightly sore paw from its unpleasant capture.

Micklang shivered as he remembered how close he had come to being eaten and realized that he was about to have the same experience again, without the humans to help.

Without warning, the lion lunged at them and they all jumped into the water just in time.

Micklang jumped up onto the bank, not wanting to stay in the water for long in case there was still pike around, and turned to see if everyone else was ok.

"ROAR!" The lion bellowed again, shaking his head out of the smashed up boat.

The lion turned its eyes onto Micklang.

"Come on, then, Mighty king of the jungle, eh? It's just you and me now, no humans to bother us, no cages to go back into, just the open forest, your hunting ability and my new powers." Micklang challenged the lion.

The lion charged at Micklang without a second thought, but had timed it wrong. Micklang jumped up onto a rock and saw the lion zoom into the lake again, causing a big wave as it did.

The lion turned around and jumped higher this time, but Micklang simply dived into the lake and chuckled at the lions' angry face.

The lion swiped at Micklang, just snagging his arm, and a bit of blood came out and into the water.

"Oh, no! Get out of the water! Everyone out now!" Oscar called, seeing the dark shadow racing towards Micklang and Snawger.

Snawger jumped at Micklang, who was not prepared because of the shout, and they fought with each other in the water, Micklang slashing with his sword and Snawger trying to snap with his teeth.

Then the pike came, assisted by piranhas, and started attacking both the creatures.

Micklang was let out of the lions grasp and fought his way back onto shore, while the lion was surprised by the force of the fish and rolled around in the water trying to get them off with his teeth and claws.

Micklang climbed onto shore and kicked a pike away and watched the lion struggle with the fierce fish.

Micklang was saddened to see that the fish could win, because the lion was slowly giving up, and then became angry and he rushed back into the water.

"Micklang! What are you doing? Get out of there! Forget the lion!" Oscar called.

Micklang pulled his sword out and slashed at the fish, killing six and wounding ten, which died after a while anyway. Then, with all the energy he could gather, he pushed the limp form of Snawger to the bank's edge, but couldn't get it onto the shore.

Calling out wildly for help, Micklang struggled to get the lion onto the bank.

Oscar appeared, thankful that Micklang was still alive, but was slightly hesitant to help lift the lion.

"Help me Oscar! Even though he's a lion, he's still an animal like us, he just had a different way to life than us. We need to help him." Micklang cried, still struggling with the lion.

"Why, though? He was gonna eat us!"

"He was like me before he came here, a prisoner in a zoo, taunted and laughed at by heartless humans. Just like I was, he was forced to eat food he didn't want to have just so he could live. He was just like me before he came here. Just like me." Micklang realized he was feeling sorry for the lion.'

Nathan:
Whew! What a rush! Another intense scene right there. *he pants slightly*

Justin:
Heh, yeah it gets intense at times doesn't it. and look the pike appear again WITH piranhas too! Talk about epic. But I wonder, is it too much?

Nathan:
Nah,  it's just fine.  Heh heh.
The third part.
