Blackadder: Jenny Jekyll and Harlene Hyde

Jenny Jekyll was a female mad scientist who lived in London,    she was mild mannered and polite -   she wasn't considered attractive by any means and she was socially awkward and quite clumsy sometimes.

Of course her trusted assistant Edmund Blackadder and his lackey Baldrick were always around,  mainly to help her with her experiments.

Jenny had her eyes set on Percy who was the son of a wealthy socialite,   but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't find ways to impress him.

Edmund Blackadder and Baldrick were in the parlor one evening when he heard Jenny calling his name.

"Blackadder!"

"Hold your horses i'm coming."

"But it's really urgent.  I need your help with something."

"Is it one of your experiments?"

"Yes..  wait,   how did you know that?"

"Because it's ALWAYS like that."

"But this is a real important one."

"Oh fine,   I'll help you,  come along Baldrick!"

He and Baldrick  then ran up the stairs to her laboratory where she was already beginning to work on her new experiment.

"Thank goodness you are here."

"So what's the experiment this time?"

"I'm working on a potion to improve myself so that I can impress Percy!"

"You don't need to improve yourself to impress Percy,   Miss Jekyll.   You are beautiful as you are,   and I would be lying if I said that you weren't."

"Really?  You really mean it? "

"Not really.   I'm just trying to flatter you."

"Aaaaw.    So here it is,   what do you think?"

"Doesn't look too impressive to me.   I've seen better potions at a witchcraft convention."

"Come on,   tell me how you really feel."

"That IS how I really feel!"

"I think this is gonna be great."

"Are you sure this is a good idea?   This could prove to be quite dangerous."

"Yes.."

"What if it goes wrong?"

"Oh Blackadder,   you worry too much!  Nothing's going to go wrong."

Jenny put all the potion ingredients together into the vial and held the vial up before carefully taking a look.

"Careful....."

"I know what i'm doing!"

"She says she knows what she's doing.."

"Yes,  Baldrick - I heard."

She took a few sips of the potion and gave a cheerful smile in the direction of the
two,    however her stomach started to make weird growling and gurgling sounds.

"Oh my....I don't feel too good."

"I told you this wouldn't be a good idea!"

Just then she dropped the bottle on the vial on the table as she started shaking and starting to change.


She looked at her hands and saw thick blackish fur growing on them also,   her hands were growing slightly larger and more monster-like,    her fingernails growing longer and sharpening -   becoming  monstrous claws.

"Miss Jekyll....."

"Yes?"

"You're starting to ummm...grow...hair."

"What?"

Her shoes and socks started tightening under the pressure as her feet started growing from within them,    her shoes burst open at the front and then popped open at the back and fell off.

Her feet sprouted blackish fur on them and grew larger as her toenails were also growing longer and sharper like her fingernails,   also the fur was creeping all the way up her legs.

"Miss Jekyll..."

"Yes,   Blackadder.."

"There's something you should know.."

"What's that?"

"About that vial...."

Her lab coat started to tighten as her body slowly expanded and started to grow bigger and furrier, the buttons on said lab coat were popping off one by one along with rips appearing at the back as well as along the sleeves.

Her lab coat ripped open exposing her now larger body which was covered in thick blackish fur and a rather wolf-like tail burst out of the back of her pants.     She was now completely covered in blackish fur apart from her face.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Well miss... you said this vial was intended to improve yourself,  right?"

"Yes.."

"Well....it is changing you....but not as an improvement.   More like a transformation."

"Am I becoming more beautiful?"

"Noo....I don't think so!"

Her hair grew long and wild as her ears shifted and became dog-like,   the blackish fur grew all around her face as her eyes turned red and her eyebrows went all wild and bushy.

Feeling her teeth with her tongue,   she could see that they were sharpening and becoming razor sharp almost like monster teeth....her nose was turning grey and flattening out as her face began pushing out into a more monstrous snout.

"How about now?"

"No....no.."

"But i'm not becoming more beautiful....what's happening?"

"You're turning into a monster!"

"That's even better."

Her face pushed out into a more monstrous muzzle and her voice deepened and sounded more seductive but with a few growls thrown in,    two horns also sprouted out of the tops of her head.

Her transformation completed itself as her mind became filled with thoughts of wild partying and having fun and her more monstrous nature took over,    she was no longer Jenny but instead a large furry female monster.

"Do you think I am beautiful?"

"I'm most certain you are."

"Really?   You're not being sarcastic?"

"Yes."

"Aaaw thank you."

"So what kind of new name are you going to christen yourself?"

"Harlene...Harlene Hyde!"

"That's a lovely name,   Miss Hyde."

"Thank you,   now if you excuse me....i've got to go and find Percy."

She jetted off with amazing superhuman agility to go off and find Percy so she could go off and see if she could impress him.

Leaping through the middle of the town square,    carefully making sure no one would catch her ,    she jumped on over to the middle of the park which is where she spotted Percy sitting down reading a book on science.     She jumped down and sat next to him.

"Hi ya Percy."

"Oh hello...you look familiar..."

"What do you mean?"

"That mischevious grin and those glassess.   Aren't you Jenny Jekll?"

"I was but not not anymore...now i'm Harlene Hyde."

"Wow...but how in heaven's name did you do that?"

"With SCIENCE!"

"That is incredible.    I like science too."

"You do?  Yipeee!"

"Yep..."

"Come here you."

She leaned on over to try and kiss Percy but within seconds later she reverted back into Jenny and ran off.

"I'll be right back!"

"I'll be right here waiting..."

She ran off back to her lab to find the vial in order to try and transform herself into Harlene again,  but when she got there she saw Blackadder and Baldrick throwing it away.

"No....what are you doing?"

"We're getting rid of the vial."

"But why?"

"Well clearly...you've turned back into yourself by now and I don't think you'll be needing this anymore!"

"But I NEED it.    I can't impress Percy without it."

"Just be yourself."

"But he never notices me when i'm being my normal self!"

"You don't need to change the way you are."

"Please,   Blackadder -  don't throw it out!"

"I'm sorry Miss....but it's for your own good."

"No it isn't.   Can I have the vial back please?"

"No...you can't.."

"Grrr.....why the hell not?"

"Because like I said,    you won't be needing it."

Blackadder and Baldrick staggered back a little bit as she started growling at them like an animal,    her voice was more monstrous sounding then ever.

"Mr B.  This doesn't look too good....what's going on?"

"Well Balders....it's clearly obvious that the monstrous side is slowly taking over..."

"Shall we do something?"

"Yes."

Jenny started convulsing and snarling and growling as she once again transformed into Harlene Hyde,   she snatched the vial from Blackadder's hand and growled at him.

Baldrick started getting extremely scared and tried to run off but Blackadder caught him.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Well Mr B.   You always say when the going gets tough,   the tough hide under the table."

"Since when I have said that?"

"I can't remember."

"Oh this is just bloody brilliant.     Our mistress is now a hairy,  furry monstrous mad-woman with enough strength to kill an army and we're pretty much doomed."

"Do not despair -  for I have a cunning plan."

"Baldrick,   when are you going to realize your plans don't work?"

"Hear me out this is a really good one.    We dress up in monster costumes and pretend to act like monsters to try and help her with her little problem,   and then we give her a nice cup of tea and soup."

"Baldrick....there is a little invention that a lot of people use that you should consider using as well....it's called a brain,   have you heard of it?"

"Ummm...I guess so."

"I should have expected as much from someone who has the IQ of a puddle of slime."

"So what are we going to do?"

"We're going to get rid of the vial."

The two of them managed to swipe the vial from her and poured it down the drain before destroying the actual container itself.

Harlene slowly morphed back into Jenny and regained her old personality and looked around,   in a confused manner.

"Huh?  What happened?"

"Let's just say....you were a bit monstrous."
"Oh my. Was it bad?"

"Yes,   very."

"Well then....it's good to be just plain me again."

"But what if Harlene were to rear her furry face again?"

"Oh I don't know about that really... but for now,   i'm happy with who I am."

"And so am I!"

"Percy!"

"Jenny..."

"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone for a while."

And with that Blackadder and Baldrick walked out and ran back downstairs to do some studying.

As for Jenny,   she learned that even though becoming a monster had it's perks it was better to just be herself.
