Hello one and all, monstermaster13 with another edition of Monstermaster13's thoughts. This is sort of a rant on sorts on one of the most unusual and completely wacked up people in the history of comedy.

I am of course talking about Russell Brand. I mean seriously, what is it that makes this man so damn popular? I don't hate him, I am just saying that he's well...weird and not in a good way.

I just find him to be too crazy to a regular person, there's several different levels of Craziness, there is Lovable and Manic, Jim Carrey-Like, Eccentric, and then there's Axe Crazy (e.g Jack Nicholson in the Shining).

Yes I know that I have fanart of him in my "Favorites" on here but that's there for a reason, because in a strange way - I find him kind of interesting. Yes I have favorited several videos of him on youtube, but that's only because he's interesting.

I just don't get why people consider him to be attractive. Seriously, this weirdo is considered attractive? No offense to fans of his, i 'm just saying that - I just don't see the appeal in this guy.

Normally I like British comedians, heck...Rowan Atkinson is one of my comedic influences. But.....I don't think that Russell even qualifies as a comedian. What the hell is he?

Is he supposed to be funny? I admit he is good in small doses, but other than that....meh.

I like him as the voice of Nefario in Despicable Me and his Ponderland series was pretty good, I have not seen Hop, Rock Of Ages, the Arthur remake, The Tempest, Get Him To The Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall or any else he's done.

Like how Doug Walker feels about Robin Williams, I KNOW that Russell can be a good actor but most of the time he just seems to playing the "Eccentric Weirdo" like he's trying to be like Johnny Depp.

I know that he's quite intelligent in real life and stuff but to be honest he doesn't show it that much in the roles he plays.

I am not bashing him, I like the guy I am just saying that he needs to do more than just playing the same kind of outrageous-eccentric-weirdo-fast-talking-rebel in his movies.

Also...can we talk about Russell's hair style? I know his hair looking all messy is supposed to be his signature look but still...it's a birdsnest...oh wait....it's not just a birdsnest...it's a jungle!

You know the lyric: "I am the one hiding under your stairs, fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair." from This Is Halloween from the Nightmare Before Christmas? Well now I think that part of the song can be used to describe Russell and his hair.

I can't help it, he reminds me of a Tim Burton character that came to life. When I see a photo or video of him, I can't help but think that wherever he goes the music of Danny Elfman seems to follow him. Seriously, I keep hearing the Beetlejuice theme whenever I see a picture of him.

And how is Russell considered to be funny anyway? Is it because of his hairdo? Is it because he's 'eccentric' and a 'rebel'? What is it that makes this man so damn likable to fans of his anyway?

I'm sorry but I just don't see the appeal in this guy, to me he's the lovechild of Jareth the goblin king and Elvira: Mistress of the Dark crossed with Rum Tum Tugger, Beetlejuice, Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, Mick Jagger, and The Mad Hatter.

I like him in small doses but too much of him can be a major problem, he's just like a lionfish - interesting to look at it, but to others he is an invasive pest. His hair even reminds me of a lionfish's quills.

Again don't take this as me "hating" on Russell, I llike him - he's good and everything but a little too weird for my tastes. And this is coming from a person who has a weregrinch as a fursona.

These are just my opinions on him, and you know - to each his own. Like I said I don't hate Russell, i'm just perplexed by him.
My thoughts on a certain comedian.
