My idea for a Muppet video game:
I am a huge fan of the Muppets and anything Jim Henson has done and this game is a tribute to him and all his works, it is a fantasy adventure game where you can make your Muppet character an have him/her explore the different realms in the Jim Henson universe.
This game allows you to create your Muppet and have him/her embark on quests in any of the Jim Henson universe realms, the main storyline revolves around your character as he/she recieves a vision of the spirit of Jim Henson.
Jim Henson's spirit informs him/her that he/she needs to go on a long journey throughout the many realms in order to continue on the legacy that he created.
Your character is given special Muppet based powers to use which are unique and go with the characters that are seen on each of the portraits on the walls of Henson Castle.
You can make your Muppet character and you also get allies in the form of characters from Jim Henson productions such as Labyrinth, Bear In The Big Blue House, Moppatop's Shop, Dinosaurs, Dog City, Fraggle Rock, Farscape, Sesame Street, The Muppets, Dark Crystal, Jim Henson's Animal Show, The Storyteller and much more.
There are also new Muppet characters that are exclusive to the game like Marielle the bat, Owen the koala, and Pauncho the lobster.
And you also get to have Walter from the new Muppet movie join in the adventure.
You can explore the many realms in the Jim Henson universe as well as explore the main stages of the realm.
Henson Castle is a huge castle which is painted a light shade of green with a yellow banner on the top waving in the breeze, it is named in honor of Muppet creator Jim Henson and the green is a nod to his most famous muppet creation - Kermit.
In Henson Castle there are lots of Muppet characters to interact with along with human characters, and there are lots of rooms to explore. This is where you'll first encounter your first set of enemies.
The realms you get to explore are inspired by and based on the following Jim Henson productions: Labyrinth, Moppatop's Shop, Bear In The Big Blue House, Fraggle Rock, Farscape, Sesame Street, The Muppets, Dark Crystal, Dinosaurs, Dog City, Jim Henson's Animal Show, The Jim Henson Hour, and The Storyteller as well as a few bonus ones.
And in each realm you are given quests that you can do to earn special Muppet Tokens and Experience Points.
Gameplay and Powers:
Your character is given a set of Muppet based powers which are unique and go with the characters that are depicted in the portraits that adorn the walls of Henson Castle.
For gameplay the game is pretty much in the same vein as Kingdom Hearts or the Playstation 1 Final Fantasy games (in particular Final Fantasy 9) .
There is also a system which enables for more than two players to be involved so that you can have your friends tag along for the adventures as well.
In the same style as the Muppet movies there are a slew of cameos from other characters from other movies or shows.
In this game you'll see cameos from the Ninja Turtles, the Rights Fighters, and even the reviewers from Thatguywiththeglasses including Linkara (who appear as special Muppetized versions of themselves)
The soundtrack has an orchestral score as well as all new original songs written exclusively for the game, and even a special version of the Rainbow Connection which plays during the beginning and at the end.
Other bonus easter eggs pop up in various levels as including concept art, behind the scenes videos and interviews with the Jim Henson production team as well as interviews with the current voice actors who voice the newest incarnations of the Muppets.
There is also a special documentary titled The Magic, Muppets and Jim which delves into the history of various Jim Henson productions as well as going into the life of Jim Henson himself.
There are lots of fun in-jokes in there for Muppet fans too including the various different Muppet based powers.
There is also the Interactive Creature Shop stage where you can either see how a Muppet character is made or buld your own team of Muppet characters.
Another hillarious easter egg is that during the Muppet theater stage you can hear Statler and Waldorf heckling other muppets who are performing throughout the level.
The Muppets realm doesn't just include the movies and tv show but also Muppet Babies, Little Muppet Monsters, the short specials and even the comics.
